The much loved Monogram Canvas from Louis Vuitton isn't their only branding success. The Damier Ebene is also a force to be recognized with and was inspired by the very early days of the Louis Vuitton brand. In fact the Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene was the very first canvas pattern to be used by what is now one of the leading fashion empires in the world.
The Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene is just a little more understated and not as heavily logo'd which for many is a huge plus point. Its checkerboard pattern has become increasingly popular over the past few years and many celebrities can be seen toting around a stunning luxury bag made with this unique lightweight and durable canvas.
The Louis Vuitton Damier Azur collection was inspired by the success of the Damier Ebene. During the early nineties many were veering away from the overstated and bold branding of the 80's and 90's and were looking to purchase items that had a more sophisticated feel. So after the success of the LV Damier Ebene the question was how to update the collection.
Louis Vuitton, inspired by the French Riviera with its classy and elegant style, launched the Damier Azur in 2006.
